Vision 21 (Cyfle Cymru)

Vision 21 (Cyfle Cymru) provides dynamic, responsive vocational training and employment routes for people with learning needs. Its 16 training enterprises are located in real work based settings located around Cardiff, Newport and the vale, offering people with learning needs sufficient time and support to develop their strengths and abilities. Training is person centred and aims to create a culture that enables people to succeed, values everyone and works towards fulfilling people’s real potential. Training is offered in horticulture, catering, woodwork, ceramics, retail, ICT, training, mentoring and life skills, creative choices and animal care.

Each student is able to learn at their own pace in supportive work settings, and has an individual learning plan to suit their specific learning needs. Students also participate in Vision 21's complementary soft skills developement programme.

Every summer Vision 21 also runs a summer scheme during July and August offering young people of school age an opportunity to start thinking about career options by attending 5 free days of work experience over 5 weeks in Vision 21 workshops of their choice. Many students are able to gain at least one OCN accredited unit over this time. This is heavily oversubscribed and applicants are advised to express an interest during May to be sure of a place.
