With its graphic designs and Hi- tech equipment the V-POD was the big attraction at the official Vale Youth Street Team launch - Thursday 15th July 2010.

The V-POD forms part of a partnership between Vibe Experience (who manage the bus) and the Vale of Glamorgan Youth Service who run the PULSE Detached Youth Work Team.

V-POD Aims

The V-POD for people who may not of had the pleasure of knowing about it yet, is a MASSIVE single decker bus which has been made around the focus of the young individuals living in the Vale of Glamorgan. The V-POD creates activities and exciting entertainment for youngsters who may be bored, it helps them stay safe and also combats crime. It aims to reduce illegal crimes and anti-social behaviour committed by people aged of 8-25 years old. V-POD and the Vale Youth Street Team wants to help the community by giving something back, not to just the main parts of the Vale, but also to the rural parts and to people who may not have the opportunity to get involved in something like this. It's doing just that.

Youth Involvement

The bus has created something cool and new for youngsters and so far it has had great response from its test runs. The V-POD has been created with the involvement of over 2000 young people and they have helped design the logo, name and style of the bus. The V-POD has created a great platform for them to build and learn new skills, it has great activities and is a big hit.

Features

With its colourful and vibrant graphics the bus has been designed with the help of the younger generation, speaking out and sharing their views. The inside has been modelled to look like an awesome futuristic nightclub. It comes with decks, recording studio, imac apple computers, satellite and much more musical stuff. It also holds two PS3s , a Wii, XBox 360 and over 16 televisions to watch it all on. There are also many more gadgets that feature on the bus which are great to use. The lighting offers a calm but cool atmosphere and the crew that operate the bus can give information, advice, workshops, training and education development activities.

The official launch

With crowds of excited and anticipating spectators people were amazed to see the single decker bus in the open warehouse with the lights pulling your attention to the bus the room was buzzing. The team that are responsible for starting this great project spoke about the aims and the gift the bus has to offer. The team were proud and excited about the V-Pod and I can say that the bus had been officially launched.

The Community

The V-Pod may be coming to a place near you, it will be a big hit this summer and with its banging sound system it will be playing big summer beats.
