The Waves of Nostalgia
I’ll never forget the secrets of the sea,
All of the secrets whispered to me.
Gentle waves lapped upon the dusty shore,
Rushing back and fore,
Flowing in a rhythm through my toes,
Such a pulse was cool and soothing.
The board nestled snuggly into my arms,
Firmly pushing through the waves,
Bobbing up and down on the sea,
Slowly, gently.
Delving deeper, pushing on,
The sparkling surface far behind,
Smashing through towering waves,
Perching on a waxy plain.
Plunging into the depths of despair,
Never getting fresh air,
Where sorrow and anticipation grew,
Where nothing was seen,
Way below you.
Happiness grew dimmer,
Where the waves did not shimmer,
All this sorrow all this woe,
Never would see happiness again.
Time to leave this sorrowful place,
To be welcomed by a joyful face,
Where birds sang and children ran,
Where happiness grew again.
Bursting through the oceans cover,
To keep the secrets of what I discovered,
Where daylight danced upon the shore,
Where I would be happy once more.
I’ll never forget the secrets of the sea,
The day the sea whispered with me.
