Kate Middleton's Vanishing Act
Well, I hate a negative article, so let’s start this with a big congratulations for Will and Kate on their marriage in April this year! She looked absolutely beautiful in my opinion, but maybe a bit thin? Oh well, I suppose everyone wants to lose a bit of weight before their big day, and then they’ll just put it all on during the honeymoon, right? Not if you’re Kate Middleton.
During her university days, Kate used to be a healthy UK size 10-12 and relatively sporty. She wasn’t fat, and neither was she skinny, she was just right.
During the run up to the Royal Wedding (so about January-ish?) Kate was a size 6, which is tiny, but not dangerously thin if you ask me. When she was a size six, apparently she said that she wanted to “gain a dress size” ready for the big day, as the dress she chose had quite a womanly shape, and her size six figure did not have those curves.
Although I researched it, I could not find the size of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, but she looked like she filled it out to me. Anyway, since the wedding, Kate has had a dramatic weight loss. So much so, that she is now supposed to be a UK size 4 (which is size zero in America) Due to the sudden weight loss, a lot of her wardrobe has had to be altered in order for her clothes to fit, and friends have also been asked if Kate is suffering from an eating disorder. They all denied anything about an eating disorder and blamed her sudden weight loss on all the stress from traveling. They also made remarked that “she’d be horrified” about another rumour: Kate Middleton is now a model on pro-anorexia websites.
These “Pro-Ana” sites contain images of Kate in her university days, all the way up to more recent pictures of her on her overseas tour, where she is noticeably thinner. Comments have even been made on these websites saying how they are jealous of her sudden (and possibly dangerous) weight loss! one person commented; "Is anyone else sort of getting hacked off by how much weight Kate Middleton is losing? I mean, I’m happy for her and all getting married, but I am very jealous. I swear she used to be really quite chubby during her uni days”.
I felt quite sick reading these quotes, I know eating disorders are to do with mental health and are hard to help, but really, being jealous of losing so much weight that you could potentially harm yourself?! It scares me to think that people will act like that to lose a bit of weight. Everyone is beautiful in their own way and I’m sure Kate doesn’t want people suffering from eating disorders envying her weight loss. Come on Kate, be a role model, but not of that type! You’re a beautiful, successful, woman, who I am sure many girls idolise at the moment (a “commoner” marrying a prince, who wouldn’t want that?!), get back to the healthy size 10 figure you had. You’re royalty now, I’m sure it won’t hurt you that much to buy a pie.

I think she is looking a little too thin. She has always been a slim woman, but hopefully now with the wedding stress over she may put on some 'happy in love' weight!

It's clear that Kate has always been a sporty person and in shape. But I can see why people are discussing her weight, because she is definitely skinnier. Although i think the reasons behind it aren't that she is desperate to be on a pro anorexia website, more likely that she has had an extremely busy and stressful year, she has just married a prince and become part of the royal family, as well as flying off here and there to meet important people across the globe!! So hopefully she is healthy and just needs to slow down, getting herself back to normal routine. I think Will and Kate are a great couple and brings a bit of new excitement to our royal monarchy :)
