Design The CLICzine Cover
Want see your work on the cover of 100,000 copies of a magazine?
Now's your chance!
We want you to design the next cover for the winter CLICzine.
All you have to do is get creative.
It's a great opportunity to get your work exposed, in addition to having your artwork on the front cover, we will also feature an interview with you on the website and in the zine (plus give you a tidy CLIC goody bag).
CLICzine is the little sister printed magazine of CLIConline and is getting distributed all over Wales from the beginning of November 2011.
So what's the criteria?
Be as creative as possible
We want your best work! It can be anything, photography, illustration, painting, collage. You name it, we want to see it.
Sizing
Remember, it doesn't have to be huge. However it can't be too small either. Think of the cover as A4.
What to use
There are many design programs available for your to use for free, it's worth checking out Pixlr.com or GIMP. However, don't feel you HAVE to make your art digital. You can also send in your physical work (if you want it returned, please include a self-addressed envelope).
What to remember
As you'll see with most magazines, there is information that has to go on the front. CLICzine is no excpetion. So remember where your focus is when designing. Below is a handy hint diagram to guide you.
DEADLINE
Entries need to be in by Wednesday 12th October.
The final entries will be judged by our distinguished art panel (comprising members of the CLICeditorial team, and Burning Red design studio) and you will be notified around the 17th October.
If you have any other questions, don't be afraid...post them below or drop us an email.
Send your entries to: competition@cliconline.co.uk
If you want to send in a physical copy of your work, send it to:

I has few questions. =]. Forgive any potential naivety that is to follow...
1 - Is it going to be one cover, and used both times for the English and Welsh sides of the zine (meaning one winner), or is it going to be similar to the last CLICzine where the English one is one design and the Welsh is a different design (so, two winners)?
2 - Who do we send it to (for both computer based and physical work)? Can we send it to Clic's Twitter feed via a mention or something?
3 - Is it just the main focus point (eg the group photo in the last zine) what you're looking for, or do we have the chance to redesign the whole look of the zine cover (well, for this issue)?
4 - Are we limited to one entry per person or no?
Sorry if these have obvious answers. But, they do say "there is no such thing as stupid questions", don't they? Don't know who "they" is, mind...
=].

Nope, all great questions. And here are the best answers I can give right now :)
1. I believe we will have two covers, one english, one welsh, so yes two winners.
2. Apologies, this was on the original post, I think it got removed by accident, will put all the submission information back up now. We'll need a fairly big size image so email or physical copy is probably better than twitter mention.
3. You can design whatever you like :)
4. Nope, send in as many as you like. All entries will be featured on the CLIC gallery once the competition is closed.
Hope this helps :)

We've also had a very good question that I thought I would mention here asking about the CLIC logos.
Don't worry about these, we'll add them. All you need to do is create you're cover piece. Use the handy hints guide for guidance on where the logos go.
