Comic Relief 2011- Do Something Funny for Money!
Friday the 18th March is a day that would make Rudolph the red nosed reindeer proud. The Annual Comic Relief Red Nose Day event will see people up and down the country doing something funny for money. The aim is to raise funds to help change disadvantaged lives across the UK and Africa. The way donations are used is diverse; from restoring the site of children in Africa to giving isolated older people in the UK the support to enjoy life- all money given goes towards projects designed to help those that need it the most.
The most famous part of Red Nose Day is obviously, the red noses, and this year there are three fun designs to choose from. Honkus, Chucklechomp and Conk are loveable, cute monsters that will surely make your nose look cool as well as keeping it warm! This year, there are loads of different ways you can raise money on your own, as a group and through your school or college.
Here are a few ideas you can try to raise money for Comic Relief.
• Get sponsored to wear your pyjamas all day
• Hold a Red Nose Day fashion show and sell tickets
• Organise a cake sale at your school or youth club
• Hold a comedy talent show and charge people to watch and judge
• Do a sponsored silence
• See if your school is holding its own wear your own clothes day and wear as much red as possible
The list of things to do is endless, and you can join up with some mates or even your family to help raise money for Comic Relief. The Comic Relief website, www.comicrelief.com and the Red Nose Day website, www.rednoseday.com has a range of info plus links to download fundraising packs, more ideas for raising money as well as a shop to buy that all important red nose.

Some of my friends, and possibly myself, are putting on a comedy gala in the Newport Riverfront to raise monies for CR =) Subtle advertising there! ;) I do love Comic Relief though! I love seeing people coming together!
