Are you a young adult carer between the ages of 18 and 25?

Then why don’t you come along and try out a six-week course called 'Looking After Me'?

The aim of this course is to ensure young carers look after their own health and well being, as well as their families.

A young carer is someone who looks after a member of the family, or a friend living with health problems or a disability.

This course helps young carers take more control of their own life and offers them the chance to relax.

It is a free course from the NHS in partnership with Crossroads. The course looks at areas like relaxation techniques, dealing with tiredness, positive thinking, exercise, eating healthy, coping with depression, communicating with family, friends and professionals, planning for the future and much more.

Crossroads Care is Britain's leading provider of support for carers and the people they care for. They work with over 41,000 individuals and their families, helping carers make a life of their own outside caring.

The course will be run in Canton Uniting Church, Cowbridge Road in Cardiff from 6 April to 11 May. Arrive at 6pm for something to eat. The course starts at 6.30pm and ends at 9pm.

To book a place call: 02920 350620, or email: carol.young@wales.nhs.uk, or visit their website: www.eppwales.org.
