An ‘ action packed’ summer offered a variety of activities to the Vale’s young people including dance, MC workshops and sports from the Vibe’s 'Splash' scheme, graffiti, arts and crafts and movie afternoons from 'The Getaway' run by the Vibe at Barry Library and drumming workshops, cooking,  bowling trips and more on the Vale Youth Services 'Teen scheme'. Not only were they involved with all sorts of fun activities but the young people were also able to learn about arson, antisocial behaviour, car crimes and hoax calling at the 'Arson Rap' course run by the Fire and Rescue Service.

To round up the summer programme 52 young people from the Vale of Glamorgan were invited to enjoy a fun filled day out at Oakwood Theme Park at the end of August. The trip was a reward for young people who had been involved in the schemes and activities that had been organised over the summer by Vibe Experience, the Vale Youth Service, Communities First, Pulse and the Salvation Army.

The Oakwood Theme Park trip was a resounding success and achieved big smiles all around. Despite the heavy showers the young people bravely took on all the fast, tall, and bendy rides. Even getting completely soaked through on the 100ft tall 'Hydro' and zooming 95kph on 'Speed' rides didn't faze this bunch! It was certainly an action packed day.

Vibe Experience said "It was great to have all the local organisations working together this summer to provide activities and a trip for young people in the Vale of Glamorgan. A lot has been achieved this summer and the high numbers of young people involved has been fantastic."
