What you eat and how much exercise you get, shapes your overall health and how well you feel. Eating healthy can improve your concentration, your hair and skin as well as providing you with plenty of energy to do the things you want to do.
Healthy eating is about getting the right amounts of vitamins, minerals, protein and carbohydrates, as well as the right types of fats and sugars.
A healthy, balanced diet contains a variety of different foods, including fruit, vegetables, starchy foods (such as bread, cereals, rice, pasta and potatoes), some protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, eggs and lentils; and some milk and dairy foods. Understanding these food groups and how to eat a healthy diet is important especially when you´re young and your body is growing.
Taking regular exercise and staying active is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. That doesn´t mean you have to a gym or take up an intensive sport, things like going for walk and dancing can be just as effective in helping to keep fit. †Regular exercise keeps your heart healthy, improves your muscle tone and helps to manage your weight. Exercise also improves your mental and emotional health, the fitter you are, the better you feel about yourself.
