It is the first week out on the road delivering the new STREET SAFE Project (funded by the Home Office until 2012). This project is raising awareness about antisocial behaviour, gangs and weapon crime. It’s all about being the better person and choosing a positive path in life.

The V-POD and the Vale Youth Street Team has been working with the Llantwit Major PRU group and St Athan. This week they looked at bullying and the affects it can have.

Have you ever been a bully? Have you ever been a victim of bullying?

Just like crime, bullying creates a victim. Bullying can really hurt a person, whether it’s physically or emotionally, it can stay with a person for years and they may never truly get over the hurt they suffered.

This video was created by young people, and hopefully this powerful piece of work says it all...

‘Is sorry enough?’

Be a friend, be true to yourself, be an inspiration.... Don’t be a bully.

This video was achieved by young people within an incredible 2 ½ hours, after a bullying and negative behaviour workshop. Young people looked at how bullying can affects others and about giving something back, to repair the harm caused (Restorative Justice).

We all hope this moving video raises awareness of bullying, as part of Anti-Bullying Week 2011 and sends out a clear message.

Well done to all the young people who are taking part in the STREET SAFE project and made this phenomenal video.
