Well, I think everybody has finally arrived home, sunburnt, tired and empty pocketed after an epic day down Pencodtre Park in Gibbsonsown, Barry on Friday 4th June, but I'm sure these few signs just show how much fun we have all had today.

Every year there has been a funday at Pencoedtre park in Barry, run by Communities First, and it is always loads of fun. This year they had a bungee run, a bucking bronco, a rock climbing wall, the V-POD, police dogs, Vibe Experience street dance workshops, loads of tents full of freebies and fun things to do, and on stage a special 'Gibby and Court's Got Talent' show. There were even fruit stands and ice cream trucks for when we all got hungry and thirsty, and the food was delicious and really well priced.

I went down to the park at about half ten, and got home about twenty past three, and I enjoyed every minute I was there. It was so funny watching other people flying backwards onto their bums on the bungee run (even though it hurt quite a lot!) and to watch people flinging off the bucking bronco too. I was so jealous of the people who got to the top of the rock climbing wall, it was so cool to watch them, but found it really funny to watch my friends get stuck half way up.

My friends and I have come home with loads of bags stuffed full with pens, pencils, rulers, stickers, and loads of other things we picked up from the tents (not to mention the sunburn we've come home with too - remember always wear sun cream!). Me and my mates also thought we would make some of our friends in North Wales jealous, and put as our facebook status', who cares about BBC1's Big Weekend in North Wales, it's Bro Radio's big weekend in Pencoedtre park, Barry!

The highlight of the day for me was definitely 'Gibby and Court's Got Talent' show. I didn't realise how much talent there was in the area. There was lots of singers and dancers, who all preformed amazingly, and I'm sure they could definitely win first prize on Britain's Got Talent. Even those who didn't win anything still deserved a round of applause, everyone who preformed was just so talented, and brave in my opinion to get on that stage a perform in front of so many people.

I think events like the Gibbonsdown and Court Family Fun Day are such a good idea, young people can find out more about what's going on in their area and meet new people. They can also have a really good time with their family for little or no money at all.

Im also a member of the Gibbonsdown and Court Youth Forum, which we were promoting on the day. Hopefully we can get some more members to our youth forum after the event, I think the forum was well advertised, and lots of young people filled in our questionnaires - which is great!

Well, after a long and tiresome day (but one that so many people have enjoyed), I am home, and I think I should stop writing this and out some after sun on myself, next time more sun cream would probably have been a good idea.
